Casting Workshop

Tuesday February 20 - Thursday February 22, 2018

The McMaster MSTS held a casting workshop sponsored by MetSoc of CIM. The workshop included the installation of the casting software on our personal laptops for a 45 day evaluation and training on casting simulating softwares: SOLIDCast™ for solidification defects; FLOWCast™ for metal flow related defects and OPTICast™ to optimize metal yield % and process parameters automatically. Training was be done by David Schmidt from Finite Solutions Inc. (USA) and François Audet from Foundry Solutions Metallurgical Services Inc. (technical support for Canada).

Coffee, snacks, and lunch were included for students participating in the workshop, allowing a networking opportunity for students.
